Clap for America!!

Another fourth of July and that's when I count summer as officially started. The smell of BBQ's and fireworks. It seems the fourth is the epitome of summer. Finally it has stopped raining for more than a day and we have seen 100 degree weather. I have gotten some lovely sunburns, however I have a farmer tan as well. Awesome.
Cyndi and her boys were out here for a visit and man are they as cute as ever. I know you think your nephews are cute, but not as cute as all of mine. Sorry it's just the way it is. I have become the favorite aunt. Probably because I don't have kids of my own and I can just leave them when they get ornery and whiny. Speaking of kids, our primary class is not helping us want to have kids. We got a new kid and he makes me want to beat children. Yes it's that bad. Today he kept spitting out of the window. Last week he just sat in the middle of the row and screamed when I tried to pick him up. So I just had to let him stay there. I told him he was not helping the cause, he just stared back at me.
I don't really know what else to write. Summer has just been relaxing. Kelly is just working hard and going to school. I did a "photoshoot" if you will for my sister having a girl in a couple of weeks. They turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself. I am getting bored so I think I may just humble myself and get a job anywhere, but not In 'N Out. I want to work at a gym so I can get a free membership. I do miss that. I have been reading a lot of books. If you are on goodreads search for Kelly and all of the books there I have read. So I need new suggestions for books. I am coming to have a love/hate relationship with the library. I hear of a good book and of course it's all checked out. Oh well.
Hope you all are having a great summer. Peace out!

Mormons in Vegas

That's right, we went to Vegas. Amanda had this convention thing for her school down in Vegas, so she invited us all down for it. We flew down Saturday morning and couldn't check in Planet Hollywood till 3, so we hung out and walked the strip for a bit. We ate at this place called Dick's and the waiters are allowed to be just that. I think our waiter said mother f*&*er like 10 times in the course of our meal. Then they make you these hats you have to wear. Mine said "I'm just here for da hooker convention", Kelly's said "I did all the stunts in brokeback mountain." Pretty funny, but also annoying wearing this butcher paper hat on your hear trying to eat. Saturday night we saw the most fantastic show by Cirque du Soliel called "KA". I tell you it was fantastic. So crazy what they can do. I highly suggest it if you are ever down that way.

Sunday was pool day. Planet Hollywood has these two huge pools. It was packed so we grabbed some chairs and caught some rays. I have to say that no matter how awful I look in a swimsuit, there is always someone who looks worse. I'm just saying...
Amanda had her convention so the rest of use went down and walked around old vegas. The Golden Nugget and.... that's the only one I can remember. Pretty sweet. We came back and caught the rest of the NBA finals, boo on lakers for winning, again. But while we were waiting for our pizza by the valet, I saw Ice-T. You know the washed up 80's rapper on Law and Order: SVU. That's two semi-celebrity sightings in a row. How special am I? Sunday night we caught the volcano show at the Mirage and the water show at the Belagio. More walking.

Monday was do whatever day. Kelly and I hit the penny slots, got overpriced M&M's at the factory, walked the Venetian, the Miracle Mile shops and then Kelly lost our grocery money at a Texas Hold 'em table. So if anyone wants to make us dinner this week, that would be awesome.
I didn't really take that many pictures. So sorry about the lack thereof.
While it was a blast, I would be ok if it was a long time before I went back there. Maybe next time I will actually ride some rides. Maybe one day...

I hEaRT Sanford Colorado!!

I took a trip to a small town recently. How small you ask? Is population 750 small enough. Dirt roads, horses and cows in your backyard, laundry hanging on the line. I felt like I was in the movie Oklahoma! I wanted to sing. Ok not really. Nevertheless I had a good time.

Sunday, my sister Mer, her two kids and I braved the 9 1/2 hour drive. Enough said.

Monday, Cyndi treated us to the Sand Dunes. Since it is a national park four wheelers are forbidden. There were some small streams running through. The water was warm and the kids had a blast playing in the water fully clothed mind you. It was an all day event. Too bad I forgot my camera so no pics from there.

Tuesday was the Alligator farm. That's right alligators in the middle of Colorado. It was pretty lame and stinky, but it is home to Morris the movie star. He is the alligator in Happy Gilmore and other films. I felt pretty cool watching him just stare at me. I think that is the closest I will ever come to meeting a celebrity. Again I did not bring my camera.

Wednesday we just hung out and enjoyed being with Cyndi. I don't get to see her very much so it was good to just be there. I did do some pictures of her boys, McCray and Cahl. They are so cute. Cahl is almost 2 and McCray is 4. They are little cowboys.

Thursday was driving day. Somehow the drive home seems to go a lot faster even though it is the same distance. I missed Kelly and my Harley girl. As much as I love Cyndi, it was good to be home.

I miss Cyndi already, but can't wait for her to come out this summer, yeah!! Here are pics of the boys and pictures I took from the Sand Dunes website and alligator website.

On a Rainy Sunday

Two posts in one month, crazy! Ok not really once you read. Updates: Camille's uneventful birthday, lots of rain and finally taking the Xterra off roading. Ok it wasn't what you think. It was off road alright, but there is just some undeveloped land by our house that people take their dirt bikes and four wheelers on. We took the Xterra on it.
The Willard friends came down Sunday to keep us entertained. Needless to say we wanted to get out of the house. Kelly has been wanting to prove the X (that's what I call it) can handle its own, so off we went. The pictures I got weren't very good because I was bouncing everywhere. Yes I did freak out at the new car, well new to us, driving on a narrow dirt road with the possibility of rolling over. But it probably freaked the drivers on Bangerter to see a car going the opposite of them on the dirt road. We found a big mud puddle to drive through. I don't know what it is about driving through a big puddle that makes you feel like a kid again. But we sure were all giggling foolishly. I didn't want to post about getting a new car cause that's gay, but I guess it's ok when you are doing something fun in it. I know we are totally big nerds.

Oh and Happy 26th to me. yeah

Life

Nothing new to really post, but I hate when almost a month goes by and you have to look at the same blog post over and over again. I am still looking for a job. Have had a few interviews and even a very eventful four day stint of employment, but other than that still unemployed. I think the fact I haven't gotten a job yet is a sign I am not meant to have a job. Kelly disagrees.

There really isn't much else going on in our lives. Harley is the same as ever, Kelly is working hard and going to school. We ventured out on a limb and got a new car. That's about as exciting as it gets here in Jaquesville.

I did do some pictures of my niece and nephew for Easter. It was a windy day, but the sunniest it's been for a while. I will post a few. I loved doing this little photo shoot, so if any of you need pictures or just want to give me something to do for an hour, let me know. But then again I am sure you know somebody who is starting their own photog business. Who isn't these days? Geez it's almost like you can't be original anymore.

It's me! Can't you tell?

So I saw this the other day and got a little excited because that is me way in the small corner on the left hand side. I was just waiting for Harley to go potty. Then I got sad because the guy must have put in that tree to cover up our bbq and added some shrubs along the side because it does not look that great nor is the grass that green. Ha that is awesome.

Whatever, Harry Potter and Harley

I figure I'd better update this thing once in a while. To be honest not a whole lot is going on in our lives. Still am jobless, but to be honest I am not looking that hard. I think I like staying at home. No this does not mean a baby Jaques is on the way.

I have been doing some pictures of Harley, again you say, well she is my only subject that just lays there for me. There is this great site where you can put your own book together called, http://www.blurb.com/. I am in the midst of making my own Harley book. It's going to be fantastic.

Primary update: getting better. Our first Sunday alone with them was not quite a nightmare, but still scary. I think we got five minutes of lesson in and then the rest was trying to calm them down. I have learned the value of going to get drinks in the middle of class, playing the whisper game and crayons. Coloring takes up a solid 20 minutes. I love it. This past Sunday Kelly and I were treated to an amazing story from one of our youngins about how he beat up a t-rex and survived with only a skinned knee. Then he built a boat out of legos, stepped back, put his hands on his hips and said "Ah, huh." He was quite pleased with his boat. Also the week before last, if you were worried about the pee-pee heads, your worries are over. I hear a prayer from a child is the most valuable. So the pee-pee heads have been prayed over. I love those kids!

Lastley, I was conned into reading the Harry Potter series. So to keep my promise, I just finished book three this morning. I will say a certain vampire novelist has nothing on the fabulous Ms. Rowling. I am amazed at how much imagination and creativity went into these books. To dream up a world like that but also have a significant plot in each book. I hear it has a better ending than a hybrid pregnancy and very disappointed ending where a certain heroine didn't die. When the H.P books first came out I was anti because I was in high school and thought it would be cool to rebel against the masses. So years later I am finally reading them. Don't worry, I celebrate finishing a book by watching the movie. "Jane" said I had to read at least the first six books before the sixth movie comes out. So I guess that will be my big reward for reading that far and I assume I will just want to read the seventh book because I got that far and you can't just quit.

Well here are some pics of Harley that Kelly and I did. We found out just how much she loves her ball.
Alright enough of that. Peace out
