Employed!!

Camille finally got a job!!! After 6 long months of being unemployed and a bout of working a crappy phone job for two months, it's over now. I started at Two Little Hands Productions last Friday, the 14th. My title is Accounting Assistant. So a lot of data entry. But it pays pretty good, and the company and people are really great to work for. Not to mention one of my good friends, since we were 8, got me the job. So I get to see Katrina everyday.
The company produces the Signing Time dvds. It teaches kids to learn sign language and communicate that way. It has been a huge success. You can check out their link if you really want to at www.signingtime.com. I am really happy so far and plan to stay with the company for awhile. Thank you to everyone who kept your eyes and ears open for me.
Let me just say not having a job made me think about life and what I wanted to do. Obviously, this is not my career choice, but it is a stepping stone to help get me to where I want to be. It provides an income so I can get more photography equipment, take classes and other such necessities. I have decided happiness is what you make of it. Things, jobs, can't make you happy. It's what you make of the situation. I'm starting to think the harder the trial, the happier you are when it is over, if it's ever over. I'm much much more grateful for what I have. There I am done and will step off of my soapbox. Thank you and goodnight.

My Abstract camera phase

You got it! I took pictures of my 35mm camera. This camera my brother gave me. He bought it in like ninety-eighty-something to take on his mission. So thats where my photography passion really took off. That was about three or four years ago. Kelly got us our digital camera that is my 35mm digital equivalant. I have to say it's one of the best things we ever bought. Harley has her picture taken almost everyday. I was bored and thought of some cool angles. Some news to announce, I am going to post my photography website. Where you come in, I need a cool name. I was going to do Blur Photography, but that was already taken. So if you can come up with a cool original name, I will give you a prize. Sorry no pictures of me, but seriously it will be something cool. Start thinking and just post it in the comments section.

Ok so I threw a picture of Harley in. She is so freakin cute.

'Biling "08

We were fortunate enough to have wonderful friends who'd invite us to go snowmobiling to their cabins. Last weekend the 16th, we went with Katrina and Michael to his family's cabin. The snow was packed down enough and the trail was great, so getting into the cabin wasn't too hard. We stayed Saturday to Monday. I don't think we did one thing all weekend. It was just nice to relax and hang out with great friends. Sunday night the moon was amazingly bright so we went for some moonlit rides. Monday we just played on this huge hill. Michael snowboarded down it, Kelly tubed down it and Katrina and I hung out and tubed on the smaller hills. I drove a snowmobile for the first time. It was easier than I thought it would be once I got the leaning down. Sunday was cold and windy. We tried to go out and play, but the dogs were whining too much. So was I. We hunkered down watched some movies, played the Wii. It was really a lot of fun. We took Harley with us. At first she wasn't sure if she liked all the cold and the two other bigs dogs, but once they started to play with her, she was all for it. She loved running in the snow, but would come over to me when her paws got too cold. What a little baby. But she felt like a big, outdoor dog. We had her ride with us on the mobile a couple of times. She sat in between me and Kelly and stayed there, to my amazement. She loved it.

This past weekend, Josh and Jessica invited us up to his family's cabin. We had a little bigger group this time. Josh and Jessica, me and Kel, Amanda and Chase and Jenny and Eric. Mostly Morgan boys, but we had fun. We got in around 8 Friday night. The trail was hard to find, but we made it up eventually. We all stayed up late just talking and the boys told stories about their crazy high school days. We slept in Saturday and chilled. Some went for a morning ride, then came back. We all went down to this meadow area and played, sledded and rode around for quite a while. Some old English man got lost. He skied all the way down from Powder Mountain. "Where the bloody hell am I?" It was awesome. So Eric was nice enough to take him back up. Chase tried to jump his mobile, but couldn't get the ski's in the air. I drove the mobile around for a bit. We all had a blast. We went back to the cabin, had lunch, then took off for home. I will admit it was kinda a random group, but we had fun. What a way to finish off a night with none other than shakes from Steph's.

Thank you to Josh and Michael for use of your cabins and great company. There were a lot of pictures so I just combined the weekends. I can't wait for summer to come, that's four-wheelin season, baby!

St. George Half-Marathon

I did it!! 13.1 miles baby, ya!! I had trained for three half-marathons and finally ran one. You may ask, is it worth it? Well looking back on running in 20 degree weather at night, aching joints, giving up my Saturday mornings to run and paying to run in a race, ya it was worth it. And if you don't understand that, then you must not be a runner. Just kidding I am sure there is something in every one's life they would put that much effort and time into to achieve.
My sister Meredith and I started training in October. I got sick with a nasty sinus infection three weeks before the race so I missed a long run. I did my best and pulled a 2 hour and 50 minute finish time, Mer pulled a 2 hour and 27 minute time. Go Mer!! This was both of ours first half- marathon. I stayed with her for about the first 3 miles and then she took off. Somewhere in between mile 1 and 2 there was these two horses running in their pen and one got so excited at all the comotion, he jumped over the barbed wires and started running through the neighborhood. We laughed the rest of race. Don't worry we drove by later and the big fella was back in his pen. The rest of the race was just a struggle to keep my head in. I made some friends along the way, but I had to beat them to the finish line so I left them after a while. I thought my knees were going to give out at mile 10, but I had to keep going. Luckily I only had three more miles to go. I finished as strong as I could. Now I am done till the next race.
We got into St. George Friday night, picked up our packets and then ate a huge carbfilled dinner at the Pizza Factory, I loved it. I ate so much bread. Saturday morning the race started at 9 a.m. After the race I enjoyed a freezing cold bath, and then a long soak in the hot tub. We just hung out the rest of the day and headed home Sunday morning. Besides the long a-- run in between it was a relaxing weekend. I included some pics of the race. Mer was sneaky when she came in so everyone missed taking pictures of her coming in. Thanks to my family for coming to support me. Thanks for the flowers Pam and Bret, for thinking of me. To Mer for putting up with my whining and training with me. Also a big shout out to Kelly for believing in me and not letting me give up.

2007 is gone!

I normally don't do this, but since I have nothing else to post, I will do a look back on the year 2007. Kelly and I turned 24 and also celebrated our 2nd year of wedded bliss. We moved twice during the year and Harley turned 1. It was a good year, we were pretty blessed. Kelly made a triumph return to Varsity and I returned to a call center which I vowed never to do again. We went on our first cruise, moved out of Logan and experienced a crazy fire next to our house. Harley ran away on the fourth of July and Kelly and I slept downstairs hoping she would return. A family found her wandering the streets the next night. Some good friends of ours finally got married, and we got a new nephew. In tradition I keep with an old friend, here is my top ten list of favorite memories of 2007:

10. Lowes catching on fire
9. "it's just up the canyon"
8. BBQ's at Devonshire
7. Becoming a brunette
6. Moving out of the house of mold
5. Spider Pig
4. Summer night drives
3. Moving out of Logan
2. Owning a Wii
1. the Cruise

I didn't make a resolution this year mainly because I slept through midnight on new years eve. (i was sick ok). But I have an idea of what I want this year to be. I want to quit doing jobs to just get by and to start doing what I love to do. I want to finally run a half-marathon. I started training for two but never ran them. I want to stop being mediocre and start being great, to live up to my potential. Well, since people only really care about pictures, I have posted some of my favorite pictures I took this year. Most of them are of Kelly and Harley. Go figure.
